In September Mario judged The Art Society of Old Greenwich Sidewalk Show along with Dan Slapo, Master Pastelist. There were over 600 pieces of art and 30 awards in eight categories; Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Pastel, Sculpture, B/W Photography, Color Photography & Mixed Media. Mario was impressed with the number of volunteers and how well organized the process was. “I expected, with that many pieces, to be there all night but they really operated like a well oiled machine and we were done in a few hours. This exhibition is in its 59th year.” The Art Society of Old Greenwich is the largest in Connecticut. It was founded in 1927 and has over 400 members.
In Oct. Mario was the jurist for the Town of Oyster Bay’s Rotational Exhibit. It is the first year that this exhibition has had awards and the Town asked Mario to be their first jurist because of his assistance in promoting the exhibit in past years.
Mario will be judging the Manhasset Art Association Member’s Exhibition which will be on display at the Jericho Public Library in December.
Cathchi has just had a one woman show, "All in the Family," at the Graphic Eye Gallery for the month of October. It included portraits of 4 generations of her family and none of the paintings have ever been exhibited before as they are all in her family's collections. Many people came to "meet" her family.
Mountain View Christian Church in Arizona has picked one of Tab's photos as “their new look” for their banners at fairs, posters and flyers? Tab had them send a small donation to Port Jewish Center instead of paying for the photo as a way to show mutual respect for different religions. They got the picture while cruising images and came across Tab's web site www.tabhauser.com
