CALL FOR ENTRIES<\/b> The Art Guild invites all artists, 18 years and older (high school students ages 14-18 years may enter in the student category), to submit artworks for consideration for \u201cWorks on Paper\u201d <\/b>a Juried Competition and Exhibition. <\/p>\n

Criteria <\/b>All styles are welcome. All works must be original to the artist and painted within the past five years. The selection committee\u2019s decision is final. Works to be included in this exhibition must be available<\/strong> from February 27 – April 2, 2017.<\/i><\/p>\n

MEDIUMS <\/b>Works must have a paper (or synthetic paper) substrate. Mediums may include but are not limited to acrylic, oil, watercolor, pastel, ink, dyes, pencil (graphite or colored), charcoal, marker, mixed media, collage, encaustic, etching\/prints or sculpture with pedestal. No photography.<\/i> (NO COPIES, REPRODUCTIONS OR GICLEES.)<\/p>\n

JUROR <\/b>Award winning artist Kyle Blumenthal’s<\/strong> life is steeped in art. From a very early age, she immersed herself in art books, art prints and art works. Her father was a sculptor and served as her first teacher. Her paintings of international conductors and soloists at Lincoln Center have won her critical acclaim. Her exhibits in the greater New York area and on Long Island have earned high praise. She has taken special awards at the Sodarco Gallery in Montreal several times. Her commercial illustrations have been used by Panasonic, CBS, ABC and NY News One. In addition to creating art, Kyle is a teacher and mentor, especially teaching students in college and high school. For more on Kyle, please visit her website.<\/a><\/p>\n

ENTRY FEE <\/b> Registration is required! (Non-refundable fees below.)<\/i><\/p>\n

ENTRIES <\/b>Digital submissions of up to three (3) images via email to artshow@TheArtGuild.org <\/b>or uploaded to our website, should be  between 1 and 3MB each, and between 2,000 and 4,000 pixels on their longest side. Please label the ACTUAL image files as follows:<\/b>
\nartist\u2019s lastname_firstname_entrynumber_title.jpg (ex: smith_john_1_beachsunset.jpg).
\n<\/b>(If all your images are named “image.jpg” or similar, they will overwrite each other and we will receive only one image. You must rename the file<\/strong>.)<\/em><\/p>\n

Works previously exhibited at The Art Guild Gallery will not be considered. Contact us at<\/i> 516-304-5797<\/i><\/b> or<\/i> info@<\/i><\/b>TheArtGuild.org <\/i><\/b>with any questions regarding uploading or emailing your images<\/i>.<\/p>\n

SIZE AND FRAMING <\/b>Size, with frame, must not exceed 40\u201d on the longest side. Work should be cleanly matted and\/or framed (if appropriate), wired securely for hanging, with the wire attached via screw eyes or D-rings to the frame, not the backboard.<\/i> <\/i><\/b>(Gallery wraps are acceptable.) No saw tooth hangers, no tape or string on the back. <\/i>Work must be labeled with the title (if any), artist\u2019s name, phone number, and email address.<\/p>\n

FINALISTS <\/b>The Selection Committee will review all entries and notify each artist as to the acceptance of the submitted work. The Art Guild has the right, in its sole discretion, to choose which eligible entries will be accepted to be exhibited. All decisions are final. Artists whose work has been selected will be notified after February 15, 2017.<\/b><\/p>\n

DELIVERY OR ARTWORK <\/b>Selected artwork, (ready for display), is to be delivered on the dates indicated below. Please provide a typed bio or artist statement, printed on one side of an 8.5 x 11 sheet of white paper.<\/p>\n

AWARDS <\/b>1st Place $300 \u2022 2nd Place $200 \u2022 3rd Place $100 \u2022 Honorable Mention certificates and Student Award\/s (if applicable) will also be awarded.<\/p>\n

SALES <\/b>Artwork may be sold directly by the artist with a suggested donation of 20% of the selling price from the artist to The Art Guild. Note, however, that sales may not be made at the exhibition<\/i>. All work must remain on view for the duration of the exhibit.<\/p>\n

LIABILITY & INSURANCE <\/b>The Liability Waiver on the entry form must be signed by the artist submitting images for consideration. It is the responsibility of the participating artist to insure or self-insure any work submitted for inclusion in this exhibit.<\/p>\n
