As one of the best plein air teachers, Howard Rose will show you how to translate what you see onto a canvas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Getting good at painting a scene that you would walk by a thousand times, and never pay attention to, could be the most exciting part in this journey to become a great painter. <\/span><\/p>\n

We are the artists…We don\u2019t accept the given image because we want to make sure our design is as good as can be. We can change the shapes, move things around, push the light for drama and add atmosphere when you might not see it in your chosen image.<\/span><\/p>\n

About Howard Rose<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Howard Rose graduated from the School of Visual Arts, NYC, and Graduate studies at C.W. Post, and the New School in NYC. Since 1974, he was head product<\/em><\/p>\n

Since 1974, he was head product designer for a major leatherwear company in Santa Monica. In 1980 he started his own graphics and product design company on Long Island. In\u00a0<\/em>1989, Howard saw the paintings of a western painter named John Nieto. <\/span>The amazing colors and large sized paintings of <\/span>American Indians caught his eye and he hasn\u2019t looked back since. Howard has studied with <\/span>Artists, <\/span>Alfred Chadbourn. Charles Sovek, Matt-Smith, and Ovanes Berberian. He had is \ufb01rst art studio in Roslyn, NY<\/span> for 18 years where he taught and specialized in landscapes.The beaches of Long Island became his favorite subjects including the dunes, waves, and sky\u2019s found in some of the most\u00a0<\/em>beautiful beaches in the country<\/span>.He teaches oil painting classes in multiple venues on Long Island,including the <\/span>Art Guild,\u00a0 League of Long Island, National <\/span>Art League and\u00a0<\/em>runs classes at his studio in Syosset, Long Island. Howard runs many varied workshops including; Color Mixing, Iphone,photography<\/span>, Design and perspective and an intensive Calligraphy and Penmanship course.His articles and instruction techniques have been published in various magazines, including \u201cArtists\u201d, and \u201cAmerican <\/span>Artist\u201d\u00a0<\/em>Magazine. He runs annual workshops in T<\/span>uscany<\/span>, Paris, V<\/span>enice,Barcelona, and many locations on the east coast. He runs plein air workshops all over the east coast.<\/em><\/p>\n

Watercolor is a truly diverse medium. Explore basic techniques of washes,\u00a0learn wet on wet painting, glazing and dry brush methods. We will begin to\u00a0understand the properties of pigments and when to use them properly.\u00a0Watercolor is always challenging, fresh and new. No experience necessary,\u00a0beginners welcome.<\/p>

INTERMEDIATE\u00a0WATERCOLOR<\/h2>
