Ilene Silberstein is an award-winning still life and landscape painter and works in oil pastel and mosaic.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now residing in New York City she was a resident of Port Washington for 36 years and her raised her family there.<\/span><\/p>\n

She received and AS degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology and later completed a BS degree in Visual Arts\u00a0<\/span>at SUNY College at Old Westbury.<\/span><\/p>\n

She worked in fashion design and more recently as a flower designer. Her love of flowers and nature is evident in her work.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ilene has always maintained an active presence in civic life in Port Washington and beyond. She served as the Development Director for the Landmark Theater.<\/span><\/p>\n

She was a design director for the Port Washington High School Gambol. She served as a member of the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce and served on the Harborfest Committee. Ilene was also honored by being appointed to The Art Advisory Council of The Town of North Hempstead.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ilene is member of American Women Artists.<\/span><\/p>\n

No class Apr 22 (Easter Monday) and <\/strong>May 27 (Memorial Day)<\/strong><\/em><\/h5>\nRegardless of your chosen media, good drawing skills are crucial to a successful outcome. Refine your drawing skills and hone your powers of observation. The class will sample and experiment with various materials which may include graphite, pen and ink, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, charcoal, markers, mixed media collage, and a group project at the discretion of the instructor.\n\nThis is a perfect class for a beginning artist or one who feels \"rusty.\" Please bring your enthusiasm, an open mind, an 18 x 24 drawing pad (NOT newsprint), 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B pencils, and a kneaded eraser to first class.
