Sona Hyde has been a local Port Washington resident for the past 12 years. Before coming to The Art Guild, she spent 10 years volunteering with the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. Sona is also a freelance web designer, so in addition to her Gallery Manager responsibilities she also helps with the organization\u2019s technology needs. <\/span><\/p>\n

Sona\u2019s interest in art developed after working many years in Corporate Banking. She wanted to explore her creative side and took design classes at the Parson\u2019s School of Design and tech classes at the Chubb Institute of Technology. She started working as a web designer and eventually started freelancing.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

The best part of The Art Guild is all the creativity that is constantly flowing. It is an amazing place to develop and explore your craft.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

When she is not working, Sona enjoys spending time on outdoor adventures with her husband and two children.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her love of art lies in the fiber arts as she is an avid knitter.<\/span><\/p>\n

No class Apr 22 (Easter Monday) and <\/strong>May 27 (Memorial Day)<\/strong><\/em><\/h5>\nRegardless of your chosen media, good drawing skills are crucial to a successful outcome. Refine your drawing skills and hone your powers of observation. The class will sample and experiment with various materials which may include graphite, pen and ink, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, charcoal, markers, mixed media collage, and a group project at the discretion of the instructor.\n\nThis is a perfect class for a beginning artist or one who feels \"rusty.\" Please bring your enthusiasm, an open mind, an 18 x 24 drawing pad (NOT newsprint), 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B pencils, and a kneaded eraser to first class.
