Juried Competition & Exhibition<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Abstract art breaks the rules of traditional art. It does not represent things as they appear in real life. This genre of art uses color, line, shape, texture, gestural marks and creative layering to express ideas or feelings. For this ABSTRACT REALMS theme we call artists to submit their nonrepresentational artworks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Juror: Dan Welden has been in the forefront of \u2018health and safety\u2019 in the arts. As co-author of \u2018PRINTMAKING IN THE SUN\u2019 and director of Hampton Editions, Ltd., his 50 plus years of collaboration include artists such as Willem de Kooning, Eric Fischl, Kiki Smith, and Dan Flavin. He has received international recognition through his residencies in China, Belgium, Cuba, Peru New Zealand, Australia, and other countries.<\/p>\n
