Angela Classi<\/span><\/strong><\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

Join us for an intimate evening with Angela Classi as she shares the story behind her new children\u2019s book, Vivi A-Z at the New York Public Library<\/span>. Angela will give a tailored 30-minute presentation for artists, sharing her creative process, the journey of bringing her book to life, and the steps she took to secure a publisher.<\/p>\n

The talk will be followed by a Q&A, giving attendees the chance to ask about illustration, storytelling, and the publishing process. Angela will also bring several original illustrations to display and discuss.<\/p>\n

Enjoy wine, cheese, and refreshments provided by Angela while mingling with fellow Members and friends. Members are welcome to bring a guest.<\/p>\n

Angela is an artist living and working in New York. In her portraits she seeks to capture the essence of the subject, that feeling you get when they walk into the room, their presence and humanity. She endeavors to infuse each painting with the joy she experiences in the pleasure of touching brush to canvas and playing with color, light and composition to create a lasting reflection of an elusive moment in time.<\/p>\n

Angela\u2019s earned an MPT degree from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science and considers her studies in Human Anatomy and Kinesiology to be an invaluable asset in informing her portrait and figure studies.<\/p>\n

2019 Nassau County High School Student Juried Exhibit\n<\/b>at The Art Guild at Elderfields<\/b> \nNovember 2 \u2013 November 24<\/b><\/h2>\n

Artists\u2019 Reception and Award Ceremony\n<\/b>Sunday, November 3, 3-5 PM\nGallery and Reception: Free and open to the public<\/b><\/h3>\nCALL FOR ENTRIES:<\/b> The Art Guild invites all Nassau County High School Students to submit digital images of their 2D or 3D artworks for consideration to its \u201c2019 Nassau County High School Student Juried Art Competition & Exhibition\u201d <\/b>which will be on view at The Art Guild\u2019s home, Elderfields Historic Preserve.\n\nCRITERIA: <\/b>All styles from abstract to realism are welcome. Student\u2019s 2D or 3D work must be original and done \u201cby hand\u201d (no mechanical reproductions or giclees) and created within the last two years. Please, NO FAN art (celebrity\/musician\/etc.) or images derived from existing cartoon or animal characters. All art must be original to the student. The selection committee\u2019s decision is final. Works to be included in this exhibition must be available from October 28 \u2013 November 24, 2019. No exceptions. <\/i>\n\nMEDIUMS: <\/b>Including but not limited to acrylic, oil, watercolor, pastel, mixed media, digital art, collage, encaustic, etching\/prints or sculpture with pedestal. (NO COPIES, PHOTOGRAPHY, REPRODUCTIONS OR GICLEES.)\n\nSIZE: <\/b>Maximum size 30 x 30 inches including frame.<\/strong><\/span>\n\nJUROR: TBA<\/b>\n\n<\/b>ENTRY FEE: $25.00 for up to TWO entries per student.\n<\/strong>Each student must fill out a separate form.
