Artists\u2019 Reception and Award Ceremony
\n<\/b>Sunday, November 4, 3-5 PM
\nGallery and Reception: Free and open to the public<\/b><\/h3>\n

CALL FOR ENTRIES:<\/b> The Art Guild invites all Nassau County High School Students to submit digital images of their 2D or 3D artworks for consideration to its \u201c2018 Nassau County High School Student Juried Art Competition & Exhibition\u201d <\/b>which will be on view at The Art Guild\u2019s home, Elderfields Historic Preserve.<\/p>\n

CRITERIA: <\/b>All styles from abstract to realism are welcome. Student\u2019s 2D or 3D work must be original and done \u201cby hand\u201d (no mechanical reproductions or giclees) and created within the last two years. The selection committee\u2019s decision is final. Works to be included in this exhibition must be available from October 29 \u2013 November 25, 2018. No exceptions. <\/i><\/p>\n

MEDIUMS: <\/b>Including but not limited to acrylic, oil, watercolor, pastel, mixed media, digital art, collage, encaustic, etching\/prints or sculpture with pedestal. (NO COPIES, PHOTOGRAPHY, REPRODUCTIONS OR GICLEES.)<\/p>\n

SIZE: <\/b>Maximum size 30 x 30 inches including frame.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

JUROR: <\/b>Stephanie Navon-Jacobson <\/b>is an artist and educator who came to teaching after working as a graphic designer. She joined the faculty at St John\u2019s University 2001. In addition, she teaches at the Art League of Long Island and Great Neck Adult Program.<\/p>\n

<\/b>ENTRY FEE: $25.00 for up to TWO entries per student.
\n<\/strong>Each student must fill out a separate form. No combining of fees or entries.<\/em><\/p>\n

ENTRIES: <\/b>Submission of images of student\u2019s original 2D or 3D artwork created within the last two years should be sent Apply in one of these ways:

All entries MUST be submitted as digital files in JPG format, between 1 and 3 MB each, with 2,000 to 4,000 pixels on longest side. Label digital images as follows: artist\u2019s lastname_firstname_entrynumber_title.jpg. (example: smith_john_1_beachsunset.jpg).<\/p>\n

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: October 12<\/strong><\/p>\n

ACCEPTANCE NOTIFICATION: <\/strong>The Art Guild Selection Committee will review all entries and notify each artist as to the acceptance of submitted work by October 17, 2018.<\/strong> The Art Guild has the right, in its sole discretion, to choose which eligible entries will be accepted to be exhibited. All decisions are final.<\/p>\n

FRAMING:  <\/b>Artwork must be framed unless gallery wrapped. Mat boards must be clean. All work must be securely wired for hanging with the wire attached via screw eyes or D-rings to the frame. ABSOLUTELY NO sawtooth hangers, duct tape, or glued on wires<\/strong><\/em>. Label back of work with artist\u2019s name and title of piece.<\/i> Please contact The Art Guild with ANY questions or concerns.<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n

<\/b>DROP OFF:<\/strong> Accepted entries must be hand delivered to The Art Guild at these times

\nOctober 29,<\/strong> 5-7 pm
\nAll Artwork MUST be suitably framed and wired for hanging (see Framing, above). <\/p>\n

ARTISTS\u2019 RECEPTION & AWARDS CEREMONY:<\/b> Sunday, November 4, 3:00 \u2013 5:00 pm. <\/b>Please invite family and friends! If you can\u2019t make it to the reception, the gallery is open November 3 \u2013 25, on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5 pm and by appointment.<\/p>\n
