\u201cTown & Country, Landscapes, Seascapes, Cityscapes\u201d a Juried Competition and Exhibition.\u00a0<\/b>A celebration of the landscapes, seascapes, and cityscapes that captures your artistic heart \u2013 from urban and industrial environments\u00a0to beaches\u00a0and majestic mountain vistas. All styles from abstract to realism are welcome.<\/p>\n

CRITERIA\u00a0<\/b>All styles from abstract to realism are welcome. All works must be original, and have been created in the last five years.\u00a0The selection committee\u2019s decision is final. Works to be included in this exhibition must be available from\u00a0<\/i>September 30 through October 27<\/i><\/span>.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

MEDIUMS <\/b>Including but not limited to acrylic, oil, watercolor, pastel, mixed media, collage, encaustic, etching\/prints, or sculpture with pedestal. (NO COPIES, PHOTOGRAPHY, DIGITAL MANIPULATIONS, REPRODUCTIONS OR GICLEES.)<\/strong><\/p>\n

JUROR David Peikon \u00a0<\/b>Now in his 23rd year of painting full time, David has labored to learn every aspect of realism, working across all genres to produce an on- going autobiography in paint.
Self-taught and teaching others for the past 10 years, David has thought at great length about the process of learning to make art, how the brain processes images, how the painter creates illusions that emotionally resonate within the viewer’s brain. With each painting, he learns more, a never ending building process.
While best known for the painterly naturalism of his landscapes, David also enjoys painting the people who pass through his life, whether presented as portraits or figurative pieces. Among his portrait sitters, William F. Buckley Jr., Dr. George Church, Dr. David Steinberg, President of Long Island University and Nobel Laureates Drs. Elizabeth Blackburn, Thomas Cech, Carol Greider, and James D. Watson.<\/p>\n

ENTRY FEE\u00a0<\/span><\/b> Registration is required! (Fees below.) Entry fee is non-refundable.<\/i><\/p>\n

ENTRIES <\/b>Digital submissions of up to three (3) images via email to artshow@TheArtGuild.org <\/b>or uploaded to our website, should be\u00a0 <\/span>between 1 and 3MB each, and between 2,000 and 4,000 pixels on their longest side. Please label your\u00a0images as follows: artist\u2019s lastname_firstname_entrynumber_title.jpg\u00a0(ex: smith_john_1_beachsunset.jpg). <\/b>Do not use the # or other symbols in the file name. You MUST change the <\/b>actual name of the image file<\/b>.\u00a0Images CANNOT be named \u201cimage.jpg\u201d or \u201cfullrender.jpg\u201d or similar <\/b>\u2013 our database\u00a0overwrites these images.\u00a0If you email the images, you must\u00a0<\/b>include\u00a0your name, contact information and the title, medium, value, and size in your email.<\/p>\n

Works previously exhibited at The Art Guild Gallery will not be considered. Contact us at<\/i> 516-304-5797<\/i><\/b> or<\/i> info@<\/i><\/b>TheArtGuild.org <\/i><\/b>with any questions regarding uploading or emailing your images<\/i>.<\/p>\n

SIZE AND FRAMING\u00a0<\/b>Size, with frame, must not exceed 36\u201d on the longest side.<\/strong> Work should be cleanly matted and\/or framed (if appropriate), wired securely for hanging, with the wire attached via screw eyes or D-rings to the frame, not the backboard. <\/b>(Gallery wraps are acceptable\u00a0BUT they must be at least <\/i>1\u201d thick with all edges painted and no staples showing<\/i>.<\/i><\/strong>)<\/i>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>No white frames.<\/strong> No saw tooth hangers, no tape or string on the back. Work must be labeled with the title, artist\u2019s name, phone number, and email address.<\/span><\/p>\n

FINALISTS <\/b>The Selection Committee will review all entries and notify each artist as to the acceptance of the submitted work. The Art Guild has the right, in its sole discretion, to choose which eligible entries will be accepted to be exhibited. All decisions are final. Artists whose work has been selected will be notified after September 12.<\/b><\/p>\n

DELIVERY OF ARTWORK <\/b>Selected artwork, (ready for display), is to be delivered on the dates indicated below. Please provide a typed bio or artist statement, printed on one side of an 8.5 x 11 sheet of white paper.<\/p>\n

*** OUT OF TOWN ENTRIES, PLEASE NOTE:<\/strong><\/span> If accepted, artwork may be delivered to The Art Guild by hand or mail. If you are unable to retrieve your artwork, provide a self-addressed, pre-paid shipping label and packaging if necessary. It must arrive on or before September 30, 2019. Artwork must be framed according to the rules in the prospectus. NO GLASS! No white frames.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

SALES <\/b>Artwork may be sold directly by the artist with a suggested donation of 20% of the selling price from the artist to The Art Guild. Note, however, that sales may not be made at the exhibition<\/i>. All work must remain on view for the duration of the exhibit.<\/p>\n

LIABILITY & INSURANCE <\/b>The Liability Waiver on the entry form must be signed by the artist submitting images for consideration. It is the responsibility of the participating artist to insure or self-insure any work submitted for inclusion in this exhibit.<\/p>\n
