BOARD MEMBER<\/strong><\/p>\n I am one of the founding members of\u00a0The Art Guild and<\/span>\u00a0I currently teach watercolor classes for beginner and intermediate students. \u00a0I enjoy sharing my excitement of the medium and hope to inspire people to be creative. \u00a0I also teach through Port Washington’s Continuing Education department.\u00a0I am currently chairperson of the Art Advisory Council of the Port Washington Library. \u00a0We review and choose new and innovative artists to exhibit in the libraries amazing gallery space. \u00a0The best part of this is the opportunity to meet and get to know and be inspired by new artists monthly.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n My background is in design. \u00a0I graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. \u00a0I began painting with watercolor many about 12 years ago. \u00a0My father had just passed away and I received the most beautiful condolence card. \u00a0It was a painting of a rose. [It had] very simple, yet stunning colors that seemed to flow together effortlessly on the paper. \u00a0I decided then that I would give it a whirl. \u00a0<\/p>\n On creating art:<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n I fell in love with the fluidity of the pigments when mixed with water.
