Figure Drawing:
College Portfolio Preparation (6 Classes)
Figure drawing is a key component of a successful college art portfolio. In this focused class, students work from a live model while developing essential observational drawing skills including gesture, proportion, anatomy, and composition.
Instructor Lenore Hansen, former Director of Studio Practices at Huntington Fine Arts, brings over 30 years of experience guiding students through the portfolio preparation process. Through individualized instruction and critique, students strengthen their technical skills while creating drawings that demonstrate both strong fundamentals and personal expression—important qualities sought by competitive college art programs.

Kevin Yen
Advanced Studio/College Portfolio Prep Instructor
Kevin Yen came to the United States from Taiwan to pursue his education in fine art and illustration. He studied painting, illustration, and photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
With over three decades of experience in the art industry, Kevin has worked as a freelance illustrator for major comic publishers Marvel and DC Comics. His work has also been commissioned by organizations including Pier One, St. Francis College, Nike, and Make-A-Wish, and is collected by private collectors. Kevin brings his extensive professional experience and industry insight to the students he teaches.

Lenore Hanson
Advanced Studio/College Portfolio Prep Instructor
Lenore Hansen brings more than 30 years of experience as Director of Studio Practices at Huntington Fine Arts, where she mentored students in the renowned College Preparatory Portfolio Program. She has guided countless young artists through every stage of the art school application process—from building strong portfolios and photographing artwork to refining essays and preparing slide descriptions. Her students have been accepted into highly competitive college art programs nationwide, many earning merit scholarships.
Lenore combines rigorous training in observational drawing with opportunities to experiment across materials, scale, and process. With expertise in casting, installation, and construction, she helps students develop technically strong, conceptually thoughtful portfolios that showcase their unique artistic voice.
