The Art Guild invites all artists, 18 years and older, to submit artworks for consideration for “ESCAPE – Landscapes, Seascapes, Cityscapes”, a Juried Competition and Exhibition.

What excites you about the world around you? Invite viewers to immerse themselves in the environment you have created through your work, whether it’s a landscape, seascape, cityscape or some other expanse. Help them to escape from the tedious repetition of routine. Gaze through the window or step outside to take a creative journey – short or long – and bring it to viewers through your artwork in this exhibition.

CRITERIA All styles from non-objective to abstracted realism are welcome. All works must be original and have been created in the last five years. References used in the creation of the submitted work must be the artist’s own, or copyright-released for use in this work. Works previously exhibited at The Art Guild Gallery will not be considered.

MEDIUMS: Included but not limited to acrylic, charcoal, collage, colored pencil, digital art, ink, mixed media, oil, pastel, pencil, printmaking, sculpture, or watercolor. No Photography, Copies, Master Copies, Reproductions or Giclees.

JUDGE Edward Puchner is the Executive Director of Gallery North in Setauket, NY. He served as executive director of the Greenville Museum of Art in North Carolina. Before that he was a curator at the McKissick Museum at the University of South Carolina. Early in his career he served as gallery manager in NYC at the Luise Ross Gallery in SoHo. He received his Ph.D. in art history from Indiana University
