As the area’s only community visual arts center, The Art Guild provides affordable classes for adults, children, and teens, presents exhibitions and gallery programs, and offers free community events that make the arts accessible to all. Funds raised through The Art Fling directly support these programs and help us continue expanding opportunities for artists, students, and families.

OUR HONOREES

COMMUNITY ART LEADERSHIP
Annette & Dan Kasle
Residents of Port Washington for over forty years, Annette and Dan Kasle are deeply committed to supporting and nurturing local creativity. Active members of the Art Guild, they have dedicated their efforts to community outreach through the arts, including sponsoring exhibitions of student work from the Helen Keller Foundation and supporting an ongoing photography exhibition at St. Francis Hospital that has become a meaningful presence for patients and staff.

Together, they have traveled extensively to learn from leading photographers, bringing that knowledge back to enrich their local artistic community.

Dan Kasle began his photography journey in a childhood darkroom in Detroit. His career includes work on major assignments such as the 1972 presidential campaigns and the Mexico City Olympics. After a career in other fields, he returned to photography through the International Center of Photography, earning a certificate and exhibiting award-winning work in Long Island and national competitions.

Annette Kasle serves on the Executive Committee of the Art Guild and plays a key role in Long Island’s arts community. She initiated the “Foto Thursday” series, a monthly salon for artists to share and discuss work. Her photography has been exhibited at venues including the Alex Ferrone Gallery and the SE Center for Photography.

LIFETIME ART ACHIEVEMENT
Marc Josloff
Marc Josloff has dedicated his life to exploring the creative force within every individual. A graduate of Pratt Institute, he has built a distinguished career as an art educator and award-winning artist. Recognized as a “master teacher” by the New York City school system, his technical skill and vision earned him a place among *Artist’s Magazine’s* “11 Artists to Watch,” with work held in the permanent collections of Pratt Institute, Molloy University, and the Art Students League.

Beyond his studio practice, Marc’s impact extends into public art, including a permanent library mural depicting the history of Freeport and a 9/11 memorial mural acquired by the New York State Museum. He has contributed widely as a lecturer, juror, and critic, and has also worked as an accomplished illustrator and advertising designer.

Teaching remains at the center of his practice, especially with his mature painting students, whom he guides with enthusiasm and the belief that “when life is art, life is good.”

LIFETIME ART ACHIEVEMENT
Howard Rose
Howard Rose is an impressionist oil painter and designer whose work reflects a deep connection to the atmosphere of the New York region. A graduate of the School of Visual Arts and The New School, he has balanced a successful career in graphics and product design with a lifelong dedication to fine art. Since 1974, he served as a head product designer before founding his own design firm on Long Island.

His paintings capture the shifting light, color, and mood of Long Island’s coastal landscapes, especially its beaches, dunes, and shorelines. Through expressive brushwork, he translates these environments into luminous, atmospheric works.

An accomplished educator, Howard has shared his techniques in *American Artist Magazine* and leads workshops internationally, including in Tuscany and Paris. He continues to teach locally at the National Art League and The Art Guild, inspiring students through his extensive experience in both design and painting.
