I am one of the founding members of The Art Guild and I currently teach watercolor classes for beginner and intermediate students.  I enjoy sharing my excitement of the medium and hope to inspire people to be creative.  I also teach through Port Washington’s Continuing Education department. I am currently chairperson of the Art Advisory Council of the Port Washington Library.  We review and choose new and innovative artists to exhibit in the libraries amazing gallery space.  The best part of this is the opportunity to meet and get to know and be inspired by new artists monthly.

My background is in design.  I graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.  I began painting with watercolor many about 12 years ago.  My father had just passed away and I received the most beautiful condolence card.  It was a painting of a rose. [It had] very simple, yet stunning colors that seemed to flow together effortlessly on the paper.  I decided then that I would give it a whirl.

On creating art:

I fell in love with the fluidity of the pigments when mixed with water. They dance together, mixing and mingling to create gorgeous combinations.  It is a medium unlike any other.
