COMMUNITY OUTREACH
At The Art Guild of Port Washington, we believe the arts should be accessible to everyone. Through partnerships with local schools, nonprofits, and community organizations, we bring meaningful, hands-on visual arts experiences beyond our studio walls.
Our outreach programs are designed to inspire creativity, build confidence, and foster connection. By collaborating with trusted community partners, we expand access to the arts and ensure that creativity remains a vibrant and inclusive part of life in Port Washington.
Littig House Community Center
We are proud to partner with the Littig House Community Center, where we provide a bi-monthly art class designed to educate and inspire their students. Our goal is to bring meaningful creative experiences beyond the traditional classroom setting and expose participants to artistic perspectives and opportunities they may not otherwise encounter.
As part of this program, we intentionally highlight artists of color and diverse voices who are not always represented in standard curricula, broadening students’ understanding of art history and contemporary practice while encouraging self-expression and confidence.
Helen Keller National Center
Each year, The Art Guild of Port Washington is honored to partner with the Helen Keller School to present an inspiring art exhibit featuring the work of their deaf and blind students.
This annual exhibit showcases the incredible creativity, resilience, and unique perspectives of the students, highlighting how art can transcend barriers and give voice to experiences that are often unseen. It’s a truly moving celebration of expression, imagination, and the transformative power of creativity.
The Nicholas Center
The Art Guild of Port Washington is proud to partner with the Nicholas Center, a community organization dedicated to supporting children, teens, and families through educational and enrichment programs.
Through this collaboration, we bring hands-on visual arts experiences to Nicholas Center participants, inspiring creativity, encouraging self-expression, and providing opportunities to explore art in ways that go beyond the classroom.
AHRC East Meadow
The Art Guild is honored to partner with AHRC East Meadow to bring meaningful art experiences to individuals with developmental disabilities. Several times each year, our instructors lead hands-on workshops that invite participants to explore materials, express themselves creatively, and experience the joy of making art in a welcoming and supportive setting. These programs celebrate the power of art to build confidence, foster connection, and ensure that creative opportunities are accessible to all members of our community.
Nancy Marx Cancer Wellness Program
Through our partnership with the Nancy Marx Cancer Wellness Center, The Art Guild offers creative programs that support individuals and families affected by cancer. Guided art workshops provide participants with a space to slow down, reflect, and express themselves through the creative process. These sessions highlight the restorative power of art, fostering moments of connection, comfort, and creativity within a caring community environment.
Fiesta in the Park
The Art Guild is proud to take part in Fiesta in the Park, a vibrant community celebration of culture, creativity, and connection. During this annual event, we invite families and children to participate in hands-on art activities that spark imagination and encourage creative exploration. It is a joyful opportunity to share the arts with the wider community and inspire the next generation of artists.
National Night Out
The Art Guild is proud to participate in National Night Out, a community event that brings neighbors together and strengthens connections with local organizations and first responders. Through interactive art activities and creative demonstrations, we invite families to experience the arts in a fun and welcoming setting while celebrating the spirit of community.
Nassau County High School Scholarship
The Art Guild proudly awards annual scholarships to graduating seniors in Nassau County who demonstrate exceptional commitment to the visual arts. Generously sponsored by the Kazickas Family Foundation, this scholarship supports students who plan to continue their creative studies after high school. Applicants submit a portfolio representing their artistic work and creative process across disciplines such as drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, fashion design, architecture, or set design. By recognizing and supporting these emerging artists, The Art Guild helps encourage the next generation to pursue their artistic ambitions and continue contributing to the creative community.
CreARTive
Each year, The Art Guild hosts CreARTive, a special day of free art activities for children and families in our community. Young artists are invited to explore hands-on projects led by our instructors and volunteers, encouraging creativity, curiosity, and confidence through the joy of making art. CreARTive reflects our commitment to making the arts welcoming and accessible to every child.
