We invite you to submit your art that manifests home to you. It can be a place where you find comfort and security, an experience, a feeling, a memory, food and/or loved ones.

Artists age 18 and older are invited to submit artwork for consideration for this exhibit.

CRITERIA All styles from non-objective to abstracted realism are welcome. All works must be original, and have been created in the last five years. References used in the creation of the submitted work must be the artist’s own, or copyright-released for use in this work. Works previously exhibited at The Art Guild Gallery will not be considered.

MEDIUMS: Included but not limited to acrylic, charcoal, collage, colored pencil, digital art, ink, mixed media, oil, pastel, pencil, photography, printmaking, sculpture, or watercolor. No Copies, Master Copies, Reproductions or Giclees.

JUDGE: William Graff

SIZE AND FRAMING: Frame size must not exceed 36” on the longest side and be wired securely for hanging with screw eyes or D-rings to the frame, NOT the backboard. No sawtooth hangers, tape, strings. Gallery wraps are acceptable, but must be at least 1” thick. Work must be labeled with the title, artist’s name, street address, phone number, and email. Framing of your work must comply with the above OR IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

HOW TO ENTER: Digital submission of your artwork uploaded to our website (preferred method) or via email to artshow@TheArtGuild.org

  • be between 1MB and a maximum of 3MB. To resize or compress your images, go to PICRESIZE.com
  • label your image as follows:
    artist’s lastname_firstname_title.jpg
    (ex: smith_john_beachsunset.jpg)

If you have problems with the uploader, please email your images to artshow@TheArtGuild.org– with ALL contact information, image title, size, and medium. We will invoice you for payment.  Submission will not be included in curating without payment.

ENTRY FEE(S) Entry fees are payable online when you upload or by mailing a check. Registration is required and fees are non-refundable.

  • Members: $30 (1-2 pieces)
  • Non-members: $40 (1-2 pieces)
  • One additional entry: $10 (per person)
  • No more than 3 works per artist

FINALISTS The Selection Committee will review all entries and notify each artist as to the acceptance of the submitted work. The Art Guild has the right, in its sole discretion, to choose which eligible entries will be accepted to be exhibited. All decisions are final. Artists whose work has been selected will be notified after August 8, either by email OR on our website.

AWARDS 1st Place $300 • 2nd Place $200 • 3rd Place $100 and Honorable Mentions

SALES Artwork may be sold directly by the artist with a suggested donation of 20% of the selling price from the artist to The Art Guild.

LIABILITY & INSURANCE The Liability Waiver on the entry form must be signed by the artist submitting images for consideration. It is the responsibility of the participating artist to insure or self-insure any work submitted for inclusion in this exhibit.

for High School Seniors in Nassau County

2023 Kazickas Family Foundation Scholarship Winners

The Art Guild is pleased to offer three Kazickas Family Foundation $1,000 Art Scholarships for graduating seniors who attend high school in Nassau County and will pursue the visual arts following their high school graduation. The scholarships were funded by a generous donation by Marceil and John Kazickas of The Kazickas Family Foundation. Applicants have demonstrated their commitment to any of the visual arts, including but is not limited to: drawing, painting, sculpture, fashion design, set design, photography and architecture.

Safia Fatimi

Board Member

After Safia Fatimi received a B.S. in Bio-medical Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1994, she worked as a commercial photographer in New York City photographing fashion, beauty, portraiture, and stock for various magazines, record companies, and advertising agencies.

In 2005, Safia received an M.A. in Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. In 2015, she returned to Columbia University to research adolescent smartphone and digital camera photography and received her doctoral degree in 2021.

Safia has been included in various group and solo exhibitions throughout her career. Currently, she teaches photography, graphic design, filmmaking, and ceramics at Great Neck South High School. She resides with her family in Port Washington, NY.
