JUROR David Peikon  Now in his 23rd year of painting full time, David has labored to learn every aspect of realism, working across all genres to produce an on- going autobiography in paint.
Self-taught and teaching others for the past 10 years, David has thought at great length about the process of learning to make art, how the brain processes images, how the painter creates illusions that emotionally resonate within the viewer’s brain. With each painting, he learns more, a never ending building process.
While best known for the painterly naturalism of his landscapes, David also enjoys painting the people who pass through his life, whether presented as portraits or figurative pieces. Among his portrait sitters, William F. Buckley Jr., Dr. George Church, Dr. David Steinberg, President of Long Island University and Nobel Laureates Drs. Elizabeth Blackburn, Thomas Cech, Carol Greider, and James D. Watson.

In addition to teaching workshops, creating both digital and fine art for clients, she currently moderates and mentors colored pencil enthusiasts via social media for the publication Colored Pencil Magazine.
