CALL FOR ENTRIES: The Art Guild will hold its 2017 Members Showcase exhibit at The Art Guild, Elderfields Preserve, 200 Port Washington Blvd., Manhasset, NY 11030. All TAG members are invited to enter their artwork. Non-members may become members at the time of submission.

ELIGIBILITY: All TAG members (14 years and older) may submit. Membership must be current. One entry per member. All styles are welcome. All works must be original and completed with in the last five years. Works previously exhibited at The Art Guild Gallery will not be accepted. The Art Guild reserves the right to choose the artwork to be included in the exhibition. Works to be included in this exhibition must be available from May 22 through Sunday, June 25, 2017, at 3 pm.

JUROR OF AWARDS: Dan Christoffel is an award-winning artist with fifty years teaching experience. His expertise extends from oil painting and sculpture (in terra cotta, stone and steel) to print making. He is an accomplished portrait artist and art lecturer including visiting lecturer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Committed to excellence in education, he has been a visiting artist at schools across Long Island, an adjunct professor and an artist in residence at LIU Post. He presently has two sculptures included in the 911memorial.org collection.

AWARDS:   1st Place $300 • 2nd Place $200 • 3rd Place $100 • Honorable Mention & Students Award/s
The Terry Shkuda Award for Broadening Creative Pursuits will also be presented.

Criteria All styles are welcome. All works must be original to the artist and painted within the past five years. The selection committee’s decision is final. Works to be included in this exhibition must be available from February 27 – April 2, 2017.

MEDIUMS Works must have a paper (or synthetic paper) substrate. Mediums may include but are not limited to acrylic, oil, watercolor, pastel, ink, dyes, pencil (graphite or colored), charcoal, marker, mixed media, collage, encaustic, etching/prints or sculpture with pedestal. No photography. (NO COPIES, REPRODUCTIONS OR GICLEES.)

JUROR Award winning artist Kyle Blumenthal’s life is steeped in art. From a very early age, she immersed herself in art books, art prints and art works. Her father was a sculptor and served as her first teacher. Her paintings of international conductors and soloists at Lincoln Center have won her critical acclaim. Her exhibits in the greater New York area and on Long Island have earned high praise. She has taken special awards at the Sodarco Gallery in Montreal several times. Her commercial illustrations have been used by Panasonic, CBS, ABC and NY News One.
