ELECTRICAL FIRE AT THE ART GUILD
Electrical Fire at The Art Guild
On Wednesday, August 31, the home of The Art Guild of Port Washington, Inc., was forced to close after an electrical fire damaged part of the historic Hewlett-Munson-Williams House on the 3.5 acre Elderfields Historic Preserve. The Art Guild has been providing art classes and workshops for all ages, exhibits which are open to the public, as well as studio space for artists. The extensive damage caused the nonprofit arts organization to disrupt the current photography show and cancel an upcoming show in October. As of now, all workshops, programs, and exhibits are being canceled until further notice. Please check for updates on The Art Guild web site. If you are interested in making a donation and/or know of a suitable temporary space for classes and workshops, please call Shelley Holtzman at 516-944-7595 or Diane Bares at 516-883-4385.
