CALL FOR ENTRIES The Art Guild at Elderfields will hold its Fourth Annual Members Showcase. All TAG members are invited to enter their artwork. Non-members can become a member at the time of submission.

ELIGIBILITY Open to all TAG Members 14 years and older. Membership must be current. One entry per member. Artwork must be available May 16 through June 26, 2011, and have been completed within the last two years. Previously exhibited work will not be accepted.

WORKS CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM THE SHOW BEFORE 4PM ON
JUNE 26. NO EXCEPTIONS. The Art Guild reserves the right to choose
the artwork to be included for exhibition.

AWARDS 1st Place – $300, 2nd Place – $200, 3rd Place – $100.
Terri Shkuda Award – $100. Student Award – Gift Certificate.
Honorable Mention certificates will also be awarded.

JUROR OF AWARDS Franklin Perrell, Executive Director, Roslyn
Landmark Society. Former curator, Nassau County Museum of Art.
ENTRY FEE Members $25 per entry. Student Members $15 per entry.

Nassau County High School Student Scholarship Application

Nassau County High School Seniors

The Art Guild is pleased to announce that four $500 scholarships will be
awarded to four 2011 graduating seniors who attend high school in Nassau
County. Scholarships will be awarded to students who will pursue the visual
arts following their high school graduation, and who have demonstrated their commitment to any of the visual arts. This includes but is not limited to: drawing,painting, sculpture, fashion design, set design and photography.
Students who apply MUST be graduating seniors and attend high school in
Nassau County. All sections of this application must be completed and returned no later than April 15, 2011. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Award recipients will be selected by The Art Guild. All decisions are final.

Painting with Palette Knife

Impressionist Inspired Landscape, Color Mixing and Palette Knife
Ages 18-Adult, open to 8 students. All levels welcome.
8 Tuesdays: March 15, 22, 29; Apr 5, 12, 25; May 3, 10 6:30-9:30 PM
Fee: $ 240 Members/$270 Non-members.

Materials list available upon registration.

Channeling Claude Monet, the most celebrated of the French Impressionists, we will explore the elements of landscape painting. Students will use a limited palette to create unlimited color. Oil or acrylic paints may be used. Using the palette knife and brush we will create a multi-layered color infusion which is the hallmark of Impressionist painting.

Drawing for Beginners

Ages 18-Adult, open to 8 students. All levels welcome.
8 Mondays: Mar 14, 21, 28; Apr 4, 11; May 2, 9, 16 • 1:00-3:30
Fee $205 Members/$235 Non Members

Using pencils we will draw from still life objects and explore shapes, line, and perspective. Then we will use charcoal pencils and sticks to learn how light affects shapes. In the last 2 sessions we will create a charcoal still life.
