CALL FOR ENTRIES The Art Guild of Port Washington (TAG) will hold its 2020 Members Showcase Exhibit online from September 13-October 3, 2020. All TAG members, including HS students are invited to enter their artwork. Non-members can become members at time of submission. Deadline for submission extended: Monday, August 24 (11:59 pm).
ELIGIBILITY All TAG members, including HS students, may submit. Membership must be current. One entry per member. All styles are welcome. All works must be original and completed within the last five years. Works previously exhibited at The Art Guild Gallery will not be accepted. The Art Guild reserves the right to choose the artwork to be included in the exhibition.
MEDIUMS Including but not limited to acrylic, oil, watercolor, pastel, mixed media, collage, photography, digital, encaustic, etching/prints, or sculpture with pedestal. (NO MASTER COPIES, REPRODUCTIONS OR GICLEES.)
JUROR OF AWARDS: Doug Dawson was born in Oak Park, Ill. He has taught art for Colorado Institute of Art, Colorado Christian University, and The Art Students League of Denver. He is a founding board member for the The Art Students League of Denver, where he presently teaches a Plein Air class and a Studio Landscape class. He teaches 8 to 10 workshops around the country each year.
Doug has exhibited with and/or received numerous awards from a number of different art organizations, including, The Pastel Society of America, American Watercolor Society, Knickerbocker Artists, The National Academy of Western Art, Southeastern Pastel Society, Pastel Society of West Coast, Audubon Artists, Kansas Pastel Society, Allied Artists, the Pastel Society of the Southwest, the Pastel Society of New Mexico, the Pastel Society of Oregon, the Pastel Society of Colorado, and the International Association of Pastel Societies.
To honor his achievements, he was given the title of Master Pastelist by the Pastel Society of America (NY, NY) in 1985 and awarded the title of Master Circle by the International Association of Pastel Societies in 2005 (California). REGISTRATION AND ENTRY FEE Pre-registration is required! (Fees below.) You MUST pre-register no later than August 17. Works will be accepted on a first come first served basis. There is no jurying-in process, however you will need to send us an image for our online exhibit.
NOTE NEW SIZE RESTRICTIONS: There is no size limit for this online exhibit
ENTRIES One (1) digital submission uploaded to our website or emailed to artshow@TheArtGuild.org. Images should be between 1 and 3MB each. Label your images as follows: artist’slastname_firstname_entrynumber_title.jpg (ex: smith_john_1_beachsunset.jpg). Do not use the # or other symbols in the file name. You MUST change the actual name of the image file. Images CANNOT be named “image.jpg” or “fullrender.jpg” or similar – our database overwrites these images. If you email the images, you must include your name, contact information and the title, medium, value, and size in your email. We will invoice you for the entry fee. All entry fees must be paid by Monday, August 17 to be included into the exhibit.
Please be aware that the digital images you send should look as good as they possibly can. These will be the images that will be displayed in our online gallery. Try to photograph your image in natural light, that the image is straight and that there is no glare on glass or varnished surface. (It is preferable to photograph without glass.) LIABILITY & INSURANCE The Liability Waiver on the entry form must be signed by the artist submitting images for consideration. It is the responsibility of the participating artist to insure or self-insure any work submitted for inclusion in this exhibit.

SELLING YOUR ARTWORK
Artwork may be sold directly by the artist with a suggested donation of 20% of the selling price from the artist to The Art Guild. Note, however, that sales may not be made at the exhibition. All work must remain on view for the duration of the exhibit.
