Face & Figure – September 2-October 1

CALL FOR ENTRIES Call for entries Art Guild invites all artists, 18 years and older (high school students ages 14-18 years may enter in the student category), to submit artworks for consideration for “Face & Figure” a Juried Competition and Exhibition.
Criteria All styles from abstract to realism are welcome. All works must be original. The selection committee’s decision is final. Works to be included in this exhibition must be available from August 28 – October 1, 2017.
MEDIUMS Including but not limited to acrylic, oil, watercolor, pastel, mixed media, collage, encaustic, etching/prints, or sculpture with pedestal. (NO PHOTOGRAPHY, NO COPIES, REPRODUCTIONS OR GICLEES.)
JUROR Diana DeSantis is a portrait painter who has studied with David Leffel and Harvey Dinnerstein. She is a master pastelist at the International Assoc. of Pastel Societies; a signature member of Pastel Society of America; a fellow of American Artist Professional League and a member of the Portrait Society of America. Her work has been published in American Artist, Artist Magazine, The Pastel Journal. Her work has been shown at the Nassau County Museum of Art; Heckscher Museum; National Arts Club, Manhattan; Salmagundi Club; and Pastel Society exhibits in France, Italy and Russia.
ENTRY FEE Registration is required! (See below.) Register below and pay your entry fee with your cc via paypal or email us your images (with your name, title of piece, etc), download and fill out this form and mail with your check.
ENTRIES Digital submissions of up to three (3) images via email to artshow@TheArtGuild.org or uploaded to our website, should be between 1 and 3MB each, and between 2,000 and 4,000 pixels on their longest side. Please name your ACTUAL IMAGE FILES as follows:
artist’s lastname_firstname_entrynumber_title.jpg
(ex: smith_john_1_beachsunset.jpg).
Do not use the # or other symbols in the file name.
If you email the images, please include your name, contact information and the title, medium, value, and size in your email.
Works previously exhibited at The Art Guild Gallery will not be considered. Contact us at 516-304-5797 or info@TheArtGuild.org with any questions regarding uploading or emailing your images.
SIZE And Framing Size, with frame, must not exceed 36” on the longest side. Work should be cleanly matted and/or framed (if appropriate), wired securely for hanging, with the wire attached via screw eyes or D-rings to the frame, not the backboard. (Gallery wraps are acceptable.) No saw tooth hangers, no tape or string on the back. Work must be labeled with the title (if any), artist’s name, phone number, and email address. The Art Guild reserves the right to turn away any artwork that does not comply.
FINALISTS The Selection Committee will review all entries and notify each artist as to the acceptance of the submitted work. The Art Guild has the right, in its sole discretion, to choose which eligible entries will be accepted to be exhibited. All decisions are final. Artists whose work has been selected will be notified after August 16.
Delivery of ARTWORK Selected artwork, (ready for display), is to be delivered on the dates indicated below. Please provide a typed bio or artist statement, printed on one side of an 8.5 x 11 sheet of white paper.
AWARDS 1st Place $300 • 2nd Place $200 • 3rd Place $100 • Honorable Mention certificates and Student Award/s (if applicable) will also be awarded.
SALES Artwork may be sold directly by the artist with a suggested donation of 20% of the selling price from the artist to The Art Guild. Note, however, that sales may not be made at the exhibition. All work must remain on view for the duration of the exhibit.
LIABILITY & INSURANCE The Liability Waiver on the entry form must be signed by the artist submitting images for consideration. It is the responsibility of the participating artist to insure or self-insure any work submitted for inclusion in this exhibit.

Town of North Hempstead Town Hall
CALL FOR ENTRIES: The Town of North Hempstead (ToNH) will hold its first Arts Matter! exhibit at The Town of North Hempstead Town Hall, 220 Plandome Road, Manhasset, NY 11030. Artists are invited to enter artwork inspired by the beauty of the Town of North Hempstead.
CRITERIA: All artists 18 years and older who reside in the ToNH or are employees of businesses based in the ToNH or anyone affiliated with an arts organization in the ToNH. Entry fee, $25 for one entry per person. Artwork must be available September 26 – November 30, 2016 and have been completed with in the last three years. Works may not be removed from the show before 9 am, December 1, 2016.
No Exceptions.

Port To Port – Art Exchange Exhibit
October 6-18, 2015

Artists from the Greater Port Jefferson-Northern Brookhaven Arts Council and The Art Guild of Port Washington swap gallery space for this unique Nassau/Suffolk art exchange.
CALL FOR ENTRIES Members of The Art Guild may apply to exhibit their artwork in “Port to Port,” a unique art exchange with Greater Northern Brookhaven & Port Jefferson Arts Council (GNBPJAC). Non-members can become members at the time of submission.
ABOUT PORT TO PORT: This unique art exchange sends artwork by TAG members to be on display at The Community Center, 101A Broadway, Port Jefferson. The work of members of the GNBPJAC with be on exhibit at Elderfields. No prizes will be awarded in this show, however, all accepted artists will receive a one year membership in the GNBPJAC.
